Scaffold

This large mixed-media artwork brings together acrylic and hand-shaped metal wire, mounted on wood. A loosely drawn human figure takes form through intersecting lines, with the wire lifting away from the painted surface to create depth and changing shadows. The raw, architectural structure of the figure sits against layers of taupe, sand and chalky white, giving the work an aged, earthy quality. Its scale and strong vertical format make it well suited to an entrance, stairway or double-height wall, where it can be viewed both as a painting and a sculptural installation.
